Upon arrival you will meet a CTO representative and be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for check-in and overnight. (This text is different from the others)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday &#8211; Tel Aviv &#8211; Sea of Galilee &#8211; Tiberia<\/strong>s<br \/>\nAfter breakfast meet your CTO tour guide at the hotel. We will start our journey with a short visit to the city of Jaffa (Joppa), where we will take a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town. We&#8217;ll pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hill top.<br \/>\nWe drive up north along the coast to the archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar.<br \/>\nContinue for a visit to Megiddo, where the book of Revelation mentions a great battle at the place called \u201cArmageddon.\u201d It is an ancient city inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.).<br \/>\nAt the end of the day we drive to the Sea of Galilee, arrive at Tiberias and check-in at your hotel for overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday &#8211; The Sea of Galile<\/strong>e<br \/>\nStart the day at historic Tiberias, where Jesus lived, sojourned, and preached on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. We will visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus ministry. Tabgha, just north of Tiberias, is the site of Christ\u2019s miracle of feeding the 5,000 and at the Church of Multiplication the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and two fishes.<br \/>\nWe will drive on to the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the sea, where Jesus preached the \u201cSermon on the Mount\u201d and it is believed he picked his 12 apostles.<br \/>\nWe ascend to the Golan Heights to view the panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon and the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights, and beneath it the green pastoral Hula valley.<br \/>\nReturn to Tiberias for another lovely night in town.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.highlightstoursofisrael.com\/?attachment_id=829\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-829\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-829\" title=\"Mt. of Beatitudes\" src=\"http:\/\/www.highlightstoursofisrael.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Mt.-of-B-210x130.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"130\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.highlightstourofisrael.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Mt.-of-B-210x130.jpg 210w, https:\/\/www.highlightstourofisrael.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Mt.-of-B-131x81.jpg 131w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday &#8211; Sea of Galilee &#8211; Jordan River-Jerusalem<\/strong><br \/>\nCheck out from the hotel after breakfast. This morning we travel to Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle &#8211; turning water into wine.<br \/>\nWe proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. Visit Mary\u2019s Well and Joseph\u2019s Church.<br \/>\nWe continue through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean with its recently excavated amphitheater, visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City, which was destroyed in an earthquake.<br \/>\nAscend to Jerusalem through the Jordan Valley. On arrival drive, to the hotel in Jerusalem for check-in and overnight<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday &#8211; Dead Sea and Masada<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter an early breakfast, we drive through the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea to Masada, which is situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. The site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod\u2019s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more.<br \/>\nDrive to the site of the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth\u2019s surface. We will end our day with a \u201cfloat\u201d on the salty, mineral rich water of the Dead Sea.<br \/>\nReturn to Jerusalem for overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday &#8211; Jerusalem Old City<\/strong><br \/>\nJerusalem is the holy city for the world\u2019s three great religions \u2013 Christianity, Judaism and Islam \u2013 Jerusalem occupies a unique place in the world. We will visit the great sites in the Old City, the Mount of Olives, a stop at the site where Jesus first gave the Lord\u2019s Prayer, and the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Jesus. We will stop at the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount. We will walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, housing both the traditional site of the Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. To the southwest, just outside the Old City, is Mount Zion, with the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday &#8211; Jerusalem New City<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will start our day at Mt. Scopus with a spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem.<br \/>\nWe drive for a visit to Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust established in 1953, located on the foot of Mt. Herzl.<br \/>\nWe continue to Ein Karem, a picturesque village on the south western outskirts of Jerusalem. This small village has great significance in Christian tradition, since it is where, according to tradition, John the Baptist was born.<br \/>\nVisit the Israel Museum, which has a detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. Drive by the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the famous Supreme Court.<br \/>\nAt the end of the day, time permitting, visit Bethlehem*, see Rachel\u2019s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity.<br \/>\nAt the end of the visit, back to the hotel for overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday &#8211; Jerusalem &#8211; Jerash &#8211; Amman<\/strong><br \/>\nCheck out after breakfast, drive to the Jordanian border (Sh. Hussein Bridge or Allenby Bridge). After border crossing procedures, meet your Jordanian tour guide and enter Jordan.<br \/>\nDrive to Jerash, City of the Decapolis, located about 45kms north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Visit the Roman city with colonnaded streets, the ancient theater, the baths and the hill top temple, the triumphal arch etc.<br \/>\nContinue drive to Amman for a city tour of the Jordanian capital.<br \/>\nAt the end of the day we drive to the hotel in Amman for check-in and overnight<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday &#8211; Amman &#8211; Madaba &#8211; Mt Nebo &#8211; Shobak &#8211; Petra<\/strong><br \/>\nCheck out after breakfast. Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land and ruins of historical sites.<br \/>\nWe continue to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Stop for an overview of the Jordan Valley, Jericho, and the Dead Sea etc.<br \/>\nProceed via the Crusader castle, Shobak, to Wadi Musa, the modern village of Petra.<br \/>\nWe arrive at Petra and check-in at the hotel for overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday &#8211; Petra &#8211; Amman<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast, leave the hotel for an exciting day\u2019s visit Petra.<br \/>\nWe will start with a horseback ride to the \u201cSiq\u201d (Canyon); continue on foot to Petra known as \u201cHa Sela Ha Edom\u201d or red rock city, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century BC to the 2ndcentury AD. Visit the most interesting carved monuments such as the Treasury (El Khazneh &#8211; a tomb of a Nabataean king) to the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar etc. From this point you can view the whole of the rock city.<br \/>\nAt the end of the visit, we leave Petra and drive back to Amman for overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday &#8211; Amman &#8211; Allenby Bridge &#8211; Ben Gurion airport<\/strong><br \/>\nWe have reached our final day on this tour.<br \/>\nAfter breakfast, leave the hotel and drive to Allenby Bridge, cross the Jordan River back to Israel.
