Our representative will meet you for assistance. Transfer to the hotel in Cairo for check-in and overnight.<br \/>\nOvernight: Cairo<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 2 &#8211; Transfer to Luxor<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast, drive for a domestic flight to Luxor, on arrival, transfer to the exciting Nile river cruise, Board the ship before lunch.<br \/>\nFree afternoon, dinner on board.<br \/>\nOvernight: Cruise ship<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 3 &#8211; Luxor<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast on the ship, we will start our fascinating tour at the East Bank before continuing for a visit to the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings, which illustrates some aspects of the Egyptian concept of the afterlife that the pyramids do not.<br \/>\nWe will then visit the Colossi of Mammon and Hatshepsut at El dir El&#8217;bhari Temple, also known as the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the country&#8217;s most distinctive and characteristic temples on account of both its architectural design and decoration.<br \/>\nSail to Esna, cross the lock and sail to Edfu.<br \/>\nOvernight: Edfu<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 4 &#8211; Edfu, Kom Ombo<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast on the ship, we will visit Edfu, the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement. We return to the ship and sail to Kom Ombo, an agricultural town famous for the Temple of Kom Ombo. It was originally an Egyptian city called Nubt, meaning City of Gold.<br \/>\nWe continue and sail to Aswan.<br \/>\nOvernight: Aswan<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 5 &#8211; Aswan Dam<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast on the ship, we will visit the High Dam, also known as The Old Aswan Dam, or Aswan Low Dam, which was completed in 1902 and was razed twice during the British colonial period.<br \/>\nWe will continue on the &#8220;Felucca&#8221; (sailing boat), passing by the Botanical Garden to the Temple of Phyla. This place, which was called \u201cHilae\u201d in Greek or \u201cPilak\u201d meaning \u201cthe end,\u201d in ancient Egyptian, defined the southernmost limit of Egypt. It was begun by Ptolemy II and completed by the Roman Emperors. The Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus.<br \/>\nOvernight: Aswan \u2013 Cruise Ship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 6 &#8211; Aswan to Cairo<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast, disembark the boat, at leisure in Aswan (optional: tour to Abu Simbel).<br \/>\nAt the end of the day, transfer for overnight by sleeper train back to Cairo.<br \/>\nOvernight: sleeper train<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 7 &#8211; The Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis and Sakkara<\/strong><br \/>\nUpon arrival in Cairo, we will start our full day tour of the city. We will visit the incredible Pyramids. During Egypt&#8217;s Old Kingdom, the pharaohs established a stable central government in the fertile Nile Valley. Perhaps the greatest testaments to their power were the pyramids and other tombs built to shelter them in the afterlife.<br \/>\nWe continue to see the Sphinx, The greatest monumental sculpture in the ancient world, the Sphinx is carved out of a single ridge of stone 240 feet (73 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high. The head, which has a markedly different texture to the body, and shows far less severe erosion, is a naturally occurring outcrop of harder stone.<br \/>\nWe will then visit Memphis, the Greek version of one of the many names the Ancient Egyptians used to denote the city that lay on the border between Upper- and Lower-Egypt, and Sakara, one section of the great necropolis of Memphis, the Old Kingdom capital. The kings of the 1st Dynasty as well as those of the 2nd Dynasty. are mostly buried in this section.<br \/>\nOvernight: Cairo<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 8 &#8211; Cairo Old City and The Egyptian Museum and transfer to the airport<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter breakfast at the hotel, we will start our full day tour of Cairo with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, which features artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art that is considered to be the largest and most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world.<br \/>\nThe Saladin Citadel is next, This massive stone fortress set in a beautiful tropical location with magnificent views, was built by Salah ad-Din in the 12th century.<br \/>\nWe then visit Synagogue Ben Ezzra, whose &#8220;geniza&#8221; or store room was found to contain a treasure of abandoned Hebrew secular and sacred manuscripts in the 19th century.<br \/>\nWe then continue to Mohamed Ali Mosque, the Tomb of Mohammad Ali, which is also known as the Alabaster Mosque because of the extensive use of this fine material from Beni Suef.<br \/>\nOur day will end with a visit to the Old City of Cairo. This small and enclosed area, also known as Coptic Cairo, is the oldest part of the city and was once known as the Roman stronghold of Babylon; some of the old walls still exist and the famous Khan El Khalil Bazar.<br \/>\nAt the end of the day, transfer to Cairo International Airport.<br \/>\nTour does not include<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Tour can also be operated on Thursdays, with some changes in the itinerary<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8 Days &amp; 7 Nights &#8211; Sunday Arrival DAY 1 &#8211; Arrive at Cairo Arrive at Cairo Airport.
